Educational workshops for teachers or pupils

If you are interested in Jude Brigley coming to your school or college to deliver a workshop or structured session with young, teenage or adult learners, the following represents a selection of what she offers:
Poetry Reading Workshops for any of the following: KS2/KS3/16 +/Wider adult education
Here, Jude would create a collection of age appropriate poems, often original, present them with flair to her audience and then facilitate guided activities on poetic language, meaning, comparisons, thematic construction etc. Poems could be related to examination preparation, poetry appreciation, a school project or theme or a more abstract study of poetic technique.
Remember: Jude is a published poet herself, and wrote her doctorate thesis on poetic thinking – in many ways, you could say she is a poetry doctor!
Creative writing workshops

Poetry writing workshops
Jude can work with small groups of writers to brainstorm, shape and refine single poems, and could also include writing poems using different media. This creative writing workshop approach works equally well with young, teenage or adult writers and could result in a class poetry compilation, a group of high-quality poems on a theme, poetry writing for a coursework portfolio or poetry collections for potential publication.

Wider adult education
Jude has had much experience in providing writers with a range of (often delightfully unexpected) challenges to stimulate them to write creatively, and has enjoyed seeing many of her students being published, winning writing prizes and going on to careers related to writing, journalism, film and the theatre.
Jude is equally at home preparing writers to write in fiction or non-fiction form, and you will be delighted at the high quality writing that your students will produce after a workshop with her.
